Via Ferratas in Serre Chevalier

Via Ferratas in Serre Chevalier

For those that enjoy the outdoors, Serre Chevalier is the ultimate playground in summer. From rafting to mountain biking, paraponting to hiking there is an activity for every taste.

One of the regions most popular summer pastimes and an activity that draws in many visitors every year is Via Ferrata, which translates from Italian to mean 'road of iron'.

A Via Ferrata is a steep mountain route that is equipped with fixed cables, stemples, ladders and bridges. Climbers of all levels are welcome to use the routes mapped out across some of the regions most inaccessible terrain.

Via Ferratas are found across Europe and are known in Germany as klettersteige, however it is in Serre Chevalier where many have tried and fallen in love with the sport.

Serre Chevalier's routes offer fantastic variation. Whilst experienced climbers will enjoy some of the most challenging routes in France, Serre Chevalier also offers beginners routes to understand the basics on easily. Once at the top both experienced and novice climbers alike will enjoy the satisfaction of completing their climb and be rewarded with some stunning views.
